FLORA
Regional flora, the southernmost of the continent, is adapted to particular conditions, that usually exceed the minimum requirements that most other species of global flora need for survival.
FAUNA
The great variety of habitats, along with an important amount of protected wildlife areas, permits the existence of colonies of typical patagonic fauna, specially aquatic and marine birds. About 460 species of birds live in Chile, of which around 200 live in the region of Magallanes and chilean antarctic. Patagonia and Tierra del Fuego form quite an isolated ecosystem where you find about 55 species of endemic birds, this means restricted to the most austral zone of the American continent.
